Robert C. Bass
General Surgery
Dr. Bass was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He attended the University of Virginia and earned a BA in biology. He attended graduate school in the Department of Microbiology at the Medical College of Virginia and earned a Master’s degree before deciding to pursue a career in medicine. Dr. Bass attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and graduated in 1989. He pursued training in general surgery at the University of Cincinnati, completing residency in 1996.
After residency, Dr. Bass and his wife, Dr. Moira Rafferty worked for the Indian Health Service in Chinle, Arizona for five years. In 2001 the family decided to relocate back to Virginia and Dr. Bass accepted an offer with Seven Hills Surgical Associates. Dr. Rafferty is an internist with Medical Associates of Central Virginia. They have two children.
Dr. Bass is a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Army Reserves and has done three medical deployments to Iraq in support of operations there.
